Putting food on American's tables require more than farmers. It also requires processors and packagers, in locations both rural and urban. With that in mind, the USDA just launched (Winter 2021) a new guaranteed lending program for Food Supply Chain participants of all varieties.

Like the USDA's other three programs, USDA Food Supply Chain (USDA FSC) offers competitive financing and generous terms. But unlike others, the USDA FSC program has no USDA guarantee fee, has a $40 MM maximum loan amount, and has no rural requirement.

Just west of Waco, Texas, a team of skilled meat processors prepares steaks, ground beef, and roasts for chefs, line cooks, and home cooks throughout the country. On their nameplates is the logo of I O Ranch Processing, a company operating in the rural town of Evant, thanks to a $1.9 million loan guaranteed by the USDA. The funds were secured with the help of a team of government-guaranteed lending experts at NAC -- the same team that stands by to assist applicants in search of USDA-backed loans today.
