Ben Mathewson

Ben Mathewson joined North Avenue Capital as a Commercial Lender in 2016, specializing in business development, financial analysis, debt financing, and investment opportunities. He was promoted to Vice President in 2020 and has since joined the executive team as a Market President – Production. Ben earned his undergraduate degree and officer commission from the United States Air Force Academy, holds an MBA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and has earned a graduate banking certificate from Louisiana State University.

Before joining NAC, Ben was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force serving as a finance officer. He served as the Financial Services Officer for Kadena Air Base (Japan), where he led an international team that executed payroll and travel disbursements for all Air Force personnel stationed on Okinawa. He went on to earn a post at the 352nd Special Operations Wing in the United Kingdom, where he served as the youngest Wing Chief Financial Manager in the Air Force. He managed $1.1 billion in assets and performed all planning, programming, and execution of a $120 million budget to project Special Operations combat power across three continents. In 2015, Ben made the transition back to the U.S., where he served as the financial planning and analysis commander with more than $4.3 billion under management, while stationed at Offutt Air Force Base outside of Omaha, Nebraska.

Ben, his wife, Carly, their daughters, Isla and Cora, and sons, Henry and Miles, live in Boerne, Texas, where he is active in a variety of leadership roles in the community and their church.
